A tiny home wood pellet stove that is big on features, by HastyHeat.com

So I recently flew in my bag a wood pellet grill, the "CHP Suomavator" to Washington DC and barbiqued on the White house lawn!
The true curiosity is the function and performance of this portable brayton cycle solid fuel burner. With 10kw of thermal output it cooks, makes hot showers, and about 50 miles per day of electricity for our Nissan Leaf!
With it's liquid cooled thermalelectric generator.
All with the same 40# of wood pellets we would burn to heat our house per day anyways...
Stacked functions and compounded cycle engines is where efficiency is at!
Equally impressive is it's lack of emissions, despite the solid biofuels quantity of hydrogen and carbon atoms to oxidize, the air fuel mixing and temperatures in excess of 2000 F are sufficient to bond and oxidize the carbon monoxide releasing additional heat.
Having burned said stove within a closed 1000 SQ foot shop for an hour with no perceivable scent, the air quality monitor showed the emissions buildup equivalent to living downtown in a typical America metropolis.

"it is better to use gas in a stationary combined cycle power plant application to generate electricity to charge EVs"

"It is better to use gas in a stationary combined cycle power plant application to generate electricity to charge EVs"
    —Curran et al.

Thorough research and cradle to grave analysis has proven it is more efficient to burn a fuels in a stationary combined cycle power plant to generate electricity to recharge electric cars, than to burn the fuel onboard a vehicle!

in a stationary combined cycle power plant higher energy conversion eficiencies almost 3 times that of the most advanced automitive engines can be realized. Additionally in a stationary engine the emissions can be scrubbed, harvested, sequestered, and removed; magnitudes more effectivly than a weight and volume constrained mobile power plant can attain.

If you are considering getting a insert be sure to select something that is custom fitted to ensure the largest viewing aperture of your fire as to not lose any of the important ambiance your hearth provides your home. Many cheap or universal fireplace inserts have very large metal flashing on the boarders and small glass windows in there doors. Another important feature in a quality insert is also the surface area in its heat exchanger to capture and blow heated air out and into your home. Some basic fireplace inserts offer no heat exchanger or blower to get the energy of the firewood moved from the fireplace throughout your home.

Adding a lift out ashtray is another convenient option to add to improve the function of your fireplace because it can significantly simplify the ash removal and cleaning up after your fires. If it is easier to keep the combustion pocket clean it is more likely the cleaning will be done regularly. Improving combustion reduces unburned smoke wood gas heat energy loss from going up the chimney.

A fireback is a ancient technology to use the heat of the fire to illuminate your room with heat using FAR far infrared radiation using a metal plate in the back of the firebox. This effect is similar to how a flat screen TV can illuminate a dark room with a white screen radiating its light, but in this case it is invisible heat being radiated. On a tubular fireplace grate the fireback can act as the same as a FAR infrared panel emitter while at the same time helping to direct the flame along the tubes where the heat can best be conducted into the homes air being circulated through its tubes.

If maximum heat is not your primary goal and your spouse is apposed to or anyone in the home is super sensitive to the low background hum of a fan that is forcing large volumes of heat into your home, fanless heat exchangers are an option to consider. Though the use of natural convection is not near as effective as a blower, the flow of heated air upward out the tubes of a fanless tubular log grate can be a compromise between effectiveness and personal aesthetic preference.

What are the terrible consequences of a Wood Pellet Fuel Spill

What are the terrible consequences of a Wood Pellet Fuel Spill

Just what happens to the enviroment when fuels such as compressed sawdust wood pellets are spilled into the enviroment?

In short, only good!
The wood pellets expand back into sawdust with water and atmospheric moisture.
Then they become ready habitat for the mycology of soil building microorganisims.
This mycology quickly moves in to digest the ready source of carbon and other trace elements contained in the wood pellets.
Mycelym is the first to move in digesting the lingnins to produce tasty mushrooms high in vitamin B12 and selenium.

Wood pellets make a great garden mulch helping the soil retain mosture and nutrients to grow tasty vegitables.

In the long story, a wood pellet fuel makes the flowers grow and feeds the bees!

Fast and Efficient Wood Pellet Fueled BBQ Grill

For those perfect evening BBQ's Hasty Heat now offers a wood pellet rocket stove powered grill, fast to warm up in 5-10 minuets, miserly on fuel using around 1/2 pound of wood pellets per full meal cooked!

It also doubles as a long burning patio heater being much cheaper to operate than propane, and emitting the infrared along its length not just from above.

Barrel stove kit, rocket stove, mass heater, gravity feed, wood pellet, high efficiency, condensing furnace, shippable core

Save 1\3 in mid Winter heating costs switch to a wood pellet stove

Looking at our mid Winter fuel consumption we are burning 26 kg of wood per day to keep our 230 square meeters of home warm at a cost of 172 Euros per month.
That is 125 kwh of heat per day to maintain temperature, if we heated with plug in resistance electric heaters it would cost 524 euro per month.
With oil heat that would be 12 liters per day costing 364 euro per month to maintain our household temperature.
With our air source heat pumps, the same heat would cost us 250 euro per month.

So our wood pellet stove is about 78 euro per month 32% cheaper than our heat pumps!

How does that compare to others heat costs in this record snowfall this winter?

CHP-C gravity feed wood pellet cook barell stove, uses no electricity.

We are currently keeping warm with this barell cook stove I built with a CHP-C wood pellet burner I got from Hasty Heat.
Keeping our home at 20c we are burning 20 kilo of compressed biomass every 3 days.
It has an always hot cook top and oven my wife  enjoys using. She should add a translation of this post in suomi with her comments added... Hint..
This little biomass burner from HastyHeat.eu weighs just 5 kilo but produces 6kw of heat continuously. With clean smoke free 1300c combustion temps. It surprisingly only weighs 5 kilo and measures just 7.5x7.5 cm 60 cm tall. Making it very easy to use the CHP-C for building this project.
It is the square vertical tube you see going into the left corner of the oven.
The barell stove I built for it exhausts from the bottom with just 50c exhaust temps since the hot gasses tend to stay in the top untill they cool and drop. The rest of the heat is raidiating through the thin barell metal by infrared out and into our home.
I could not be more pleased with how my project turned out ;-)
Next I want to put one in our sauna!

CHP-C "chip" Wood Pellet Combustor Rocket Stove, for RV, boat, yurt, tent, cabin, tiny house, etc...

An all stainless model is available for use in salt water or other caustic environments

The CHP-C is ideal where space and weight are a concern.

With it's high power thermal output and low emissions it is ideal for converting biomass into electricity and heat similar to how combined heat and power plant generating stations work but on a smaller and portable scale.

It measures just 3x3x24" tall and weighs just 10#! It can be wall or pedestal or custom mounted with its 6 generic 1\4" threaded mount holes.
It has a 3" ID chimney outlet, and should be installed with at least 6' of vertical chimney pipe to vent it outside

It requires no electricity to operate. However it can spin your power meeter backwards with net metering. Or operate your off grid homestead.

It stainless core burns efficient and clean at over 2000 F, and the CHP-C can produce from a mere 3000 to as much as 20,000 BTU per hour. Allowing one 40# bag to burn from 1 to 6 days!

We are nearing the completion of our 400 watt TEG thermal electric boiler bell that attaches to the modular CHP pellet stove. It is capeable of generating up to 9.6 KWH kilowatt hours of electricity per day. To give that perspective that is enough energy to drive an EV electric car like a leaf, bolt, or Tesla; almost 50 miles per day free!

We will be debuting this technology at the green heat wood stove challenge this November in Washington DC:
