Next generation UPS shippable RMH Pönttöuuni wood stove in development

Above is the venerable time tested Finnish Pönttöuuni weighing in with about 1.5 tons of thermal mass. This wood stove is back in style! The modern RMH batch box wood stove gives your home an economical and impressive heat source. The mass of fire bricks and efficient combustion chamber of this heat-saving log burner guarantees the best efficiency on the market of 91% heat retention and a cozy long-lasting heat transfer by the warm glow of FAR infrared radiant emission out into your home. Even 30 hours after burning one batch box firewood load, approximatly 25% of the stored heat is still remaining slowly radiating out into the house. No longer do you need to inefficently smolder your wood stove with a restricted combustion air intake air trying to not overheat the room and extend the burn time, wich results in less of the firewood fuel energy being converted into high grade sensable heat, restricted air causes elivated excessive unburned wood gasses in the form of high emissions of pollution, particles and smoke. Gone are the days of leaving a fire burning unatended in the night, putting your sleeping family at risk of a potentialy dangerous situation while they sleep in the night. Fast efficent thorough super hot combustion and Thermal mass heat storage is truly the best way to wake up safely to a warm home in the morning.

Above is the high safety factor air cooled double pane ceramic glass door with self cleaning airwash for the next generation HastyHeat.com all in one RMH biomass heating appliance available now for preorder with deliveries beginning in the fall of 2025. By preordering at HH we can more rapidly afford to develope and roll out new and better technologies for keeping your home cozy.

Above is the first generation HH RMH.
The second generation in development now we are bringing to production will flip this design on its head. By placing the combustion chamber in the top third of the barrel we can facillitate many key points.

  • Safety; by elivating the fire door to the top we will eliminate the lava hot surfaces from the toddler zone as well as ease the elderly in tending their fire, and imbed the combustion chamber within the thermal mass increasing core temperatures and increasing sensable heat storage.
  • Removable top snap ring lid, simplifying periodic cleaning and maintenance, the lid will be a griddle pan direct cooking surface, additional features can be added with modularity, and simple setup.
  • Lowering the cooking surface to a more convenient level.
  • Ambadexterity; the air cooled double pane fire door will be easy to switch between right and left handed hinge to best fit all setup enviroments. In the back will be a universal chimney flue hookup for straight back/up/right/left exhaust. Facing down will be the cold air intake hookup.
  • Minamized shipping cost and weight; locally souced rubble, dirt, and sand can be used to fill the "sand battery" thermal store within the barrel around the internal heat exchanger and firebox.
  • DIY kits; for those capeable of finding and modifying their own removeable lid barrel we will offer all the parts in a smaller shipping cost volume and weight kit. BYOB bring your own barrel.
Additional options you can add to your RMH
  • BBC internal water heater boiler coil
  • TEG thermal electric generator powerd circulator pump 12vdc power supply with usb and usbc battery charging
  • SSB stainless steel barrels
  • SSL stainless steel griddle lids
  • STO 1/2 barrel stovetop oven bell with door
  • STP 1/2 barrel stovetop Giant stainless steel pot with spigot for easy draining
  • BIN quilted nomex and rock wool barrel insulation skirt to regulate heat radiation and extend heat output duration
  • STIN quilted nomex and rock wool stove top oven/pot insulation hat to increase cooking temperatures
Now available for preorder

Introducing the Hasty Heat all in one RMH Pönttöuuni biomass heating appliance. This wood stove is built like a swiss army knife allowing all night heat, cooking, water heating, electric power generation, and carbon sequestration garden Biochar production. With an all refractory ceramic combustion chamber there is no metal in the idealized combustion chamber that would eventually erode and need replacement. With nearly a half ton of thermal mass this log burner is capeable of all night heating without a unattended fire burning.

This universal wood furnace is like a big heat lamp that warms your home with toasty radiant light that bounces all around like the radiant heat from the sun.

Updates and more details we be revealed as its R&D engineering unfolds.

Follow along in this blog thread.

Depending on preorder demand we will first roll out the 55G gallon log burner model then the tiny home wood stove 16G gallon model.

When choosing your local supply of thermal mass it is best to blend aggregate and dust. Vibrate and compact into place within the barrel to maxamize the density of the contained thermal mass, more density equals greater thermal storage KWH by volume. Choose any blend you can easily procure. The following list will guide you in our recommendations organized from best to lesser:

Aggregates:
Steel scrap chunks: 980 (lb/ft³)/($/lb)
Density: 490 lb/ft³, Price: $0.05/lb

Crushed Basalt: 2466.7 (lb/ft³)/($/lb)
Density: 185 lb/ft³, Price: $0.075/lb

Crushed Granite: 2266.7 (lb/ft³)/($/lb)
Density: 170 lb/ft³, Price: $0.075/lb

Dust:
Concrete: 6750 (lb/ft³)/($/lb)
Density: 135 lb/ft³, Price: $0.02/lb

Dry Clay: 733.3 (lb/ft³)/($/lb)
Density: 110 lb/ft³, Price: $0.15/lb

Dry Sand: 2857.1 (lb/ft³)/($/lb)
Density: 100 lb/ft³, Price: $0.035/lb

I'm now adding some video examples of my typical heating cycle using this first generation HHeater.
